Geotechnical engineering is a branch of civil engineering that focuses on the behaviour of earth materials, such as soil and rock, about construction and infrastructure. It involves studying these materials' physical and mechanical properties to ensure the stability, safety, and sustainability of foundations, slopes, tunnels, retaining walls, and other structures interacting with the ground.

Waxay ku lug leedahay barashada sifooyinka jireed iyo farsamo ee walxahaas si loo hubiyo xasiloonida, badbaadada, iyo waaraanshaha aasaaska, buuraha, tunnel-yada, derbiyada xajinaya, iyo dhismayaasha kale ee dhulka la falgalaya.
